Experiential Leadership Development

Experiential learning is simply learning from our own experiences. I use an experiential learning approach to help clients feel comfortable being who they really are through learning from their everyday life experiences. From there, emerging and seasoned leaders can master their unique leadership style, the one that makes them effective in their roles.

I design custom leadership workshops, retreats, and programs where we gather in inspiring spaces to find belonging, connection, confidence, and clarity, and return to the workplace with fresh energy and a stronger sense of purpose.

True learning and behavior change takes place when we are rested and open to new ways of being. My thoughtfully-crafted experiential programs deliver brilliantly simple solutions to intractable leadership challenges by:

  • engaging the senses,

  • integrating life lessons, and

  • rediscovering our natural capacity to adapt to adverse circumstances.

My programs include the essential ingredients for true learning: peer discussion, expert teaching and facilitation, practice, and coaching. I pay careful attention to aligning organizational and individual values, clarifying a direction for forward movement, cultivating momentum, experimentation, and taking action with accountability to attain desired results.

My Services

Experiential Leadership Coaching

Through expert coaching, learners gain confidence, clarity, and connection through simple practices during their daily life. The coaching process incorporates my signature approach to the ancient art of self-observation and self discovery through a food-based practice that builds presence by engaging the senses.

Format: Nine month engagements offered privately or in small groups with biweekly meetings. Learners leave each meeting with a next step to take between meetings that is aligned with their development goals.

Content emphasizes the power of self observation and reflection. For example, learners who are working on communicating clearly and confidently practice observing their thoughts, feelings, sensations, and behaviors as they engage in various tasks and relationships. Learners reflect on their observations through independent writing and in discussion with their coach and other trusted people.

Experiential Leadership Retreats

Experiential retreats invite teams and cohorts into inspiring spaces to reconnect, learn together, and practice new ways of working and leading. Includes practical tasks to integrate the retreat experience into worklife to attain renewed energy and clarity.

Format: I meet with teams to design the retreat based upon their needs, including determining the experiential and outcome goals for the retreat, and engaging with teams before and after the retreat to ensure participants stay accountable to the retreat outcomes.

My retreats include beautiful meeting spaces, a connection to the natural world, and activities that strengthen social bonds and engage all the senses. For example, my signature cooking experience helps clients practice the ancient art of self-observation and self discovery.

Experiential Leadership Program

My flagship program takes leadership cohorts on an experiential learning journey full of variety, and a full sensory immersion in nature and food. Leaders gain deep connection to self and others and embody holistic behaviors that enable true transformation.

Format: In this six month program, participants begin with an in-person retreat to get to know one another, build trust, engage in the program content, and design their development goals. Then, we meet monthly for four virtual two-hour meetings.

We end with an in-person retreat to close out the experience, assess what was learned, and choose what to carry forward after the program. Our retreats include beautiful meeting spaces, a connection to the natural world, and activities that strengthen social bonds and engage all the senses. For example, my signature cooking experience helps clients practice the ancient art of self-observation and self discovery.
